About this training
Join us at the world famous Yoga Barn in Ubud, Bali, Indonesia, for this 5 day, 50hr Yoga Alliance Certified exploration into Yin Yoga, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Taoism, Authentic Relating, Trauma, Meditation, and Sound Healing. It is through the deepening and understanding of these practices that you will cultivate a self practice and will gain the confidence to share these practices as teachers if you choose.
This training is above all else an opportunity to find balance. In this very yang world, we are energetically pushed to always be doing something: moving, creating, growing, building, running, pushing, etc. With this, we must cultivate practices to find balance within the yin side of life. We must slow down, surrender, yield, find stillness, and rest.
No growth , change, evolution (mental or physical) can happen without stress . In yin we call this magic stressor "The Edge". We will step out of our comfort zones and step to the edge of something new.

Yin Yoga
Yin Yoga three core threads: anatomy, the practice, & meridian theory. We focus on the yin tissues of the body, the connective tissues i.e. the fascia, ligaments, tendons, and joints. To support yin anatomy we practice; we learn the core 26 yin yoga poses and how they support healthy balanced living. Rooted in Taoism and Traditional Chinese Medicine, the meridians map out the energetic flow of Chi or Qi through the body. Every "stretch" or "edge" allows this energy to flow more freely. The meridians connect our bodies to our emotions and feelings so that we can use Yin Yoga to find a holistic balance in both body and mind.

Meditation
Meditation can be a simple as sitting with our eyes closed for one minute, and it can get as complicated as we make it. Whether sitting in stillness or moving, focusing inward or outward, we can use meditation to us find peace in body, mind & spirit. Through this training we will explore different meditation practices and intentions.

Sound
Everything in the world is made of energy. That energy flows at a vibrating frequency. We can use these harmonious sound vibrations to help us find balance. Every evening practice we will be joined by a live sound healer to help us in our journey towards connection and balance. Both our bodies and all musical instruments are made of the same element, so we can tune our bodies just like an instrument to play any song we like. That song is the story of our life.
Lead Teacher - Chris Walker
Chris is a grateful student of yoga and lover of human connection. With ~3000 yoga classes dozens of trainings taught, Chris' two favourite students to teach are beginners and trainees for both of these two types of students have given themselves permission to step into something new, whether is be a 60 minutes class or a 1 month training. Though he started his yoga studies in Ashtanga Vinyasa, it was after his Yin Yoga training with Bernie Clark that things became clear with one simple question...
"What is your intention?"
Chris focus' his teaching on creating a container to allow his students to find their intention and express that intention on the yoga mat as student, on the mat as a teacher, or off the mat as they move through the real yoga, LIFE. While known for his sweaty power yoga classes and vinyasa flows, it is the simplistic beauty of the practice and its philosophy of Yin Yoga on the mat and how it translates to life off the mat, find your edge, find stillness, and stay for some time, that changes his life.
